First Contact Physio (Healthshare)
We have 2 Musculoskeletal (MSK) Practitioners that run clinics at Meopham Medical Centre, Jack Solomons and Anand Kadirvelu.
First Contact Practitioners (FCPs) are physiotherapists with an expertise in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions. They can help patients with musculoskeletal issues such as back, neck and joint pain by:
- Assessing and diagnosing issues
- Giving expert advice on how best to manage their conditions
- Referring them onto specialist services if necessary.
Health & Wellbeing Social Prescriber
Sarah Cooper is our Health & Wellbeing Social Prescriber. She can help patients to improve wellbeing and address social and non-medical needs such as loneliness, social isolation, debt, benefits, housing. She can help patients access community-based support through charities, public sector day centre, volunteering etc. Identify unhealthy behaviours, encourage patients to take better control of their health/lifestyle. Weight management, physical activity, stress management, sleep hygiene, smoking, low level anxiety, diabetes/high cholesterol.
Dietician
Community Dieticians run a clinic at Meopham Medical Centre once a month.
Other Clinicans at Meopham Medical centre are able to refer patients to the dietician for support.
Community Midwives
Community midwives run clinics from Meopham Medical Centre on a Tuesday.
The midwives are based at Darent ValleyHospital and arrange their own clinics. Patients need to self refer to Darent Valley Maternity services to register their pregnancy.
