Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can offer clinical advice, over the counter medicines and their use, to effectively and safely manage a range of minor health concerns. They can also help you to decide whether you'll need to see a doctor. You don't need an appointment and you won't even be asked to make a purchase. Every pharmacy also has a private consultation area for you to talk about your symptoms in private if you prefer.
How to access Pharmacy First
Step 1 - Simply walk into a participating Pharmacy & ask for help. Or you can be referred by an NHS provider, like NHS 111, or your GP practice.
Step 2 - The pharmacist will take a few details & assess your condition
Step 3 - The pharmacist will talk to you about the most suitable next steps based on your condition & symptoms presented. This may include prescription treatment, informing you about pharmacy medicines, (the ones that are kept behind the counter) or an in-store product that could help.
