Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

The Practice has a computerised repeat prescription system. If your doctor wishes you to continue with any medication without requiring a further consultation each time you require a prescription, you will be given a printed list which will indicate the numbers of repeats of each drug which you are allowed before you must see a doctor again. Please ensure that you tick only the medication you require.

You must request a repeat prescription in writing. You can do this by returning your repeat slip to the surgery in person (if the surgery is closed please post through the letterbox), by post or using our on-line services.

We are unable to accept telephone requests.

Collections

Please allow three clear working days Currently during COVID 19 for your repeat prescription to be processed. Remember to allow extra time for any postage requirements or Chemist/Pharmacy collections.

Any prescriptions requests received before 12 noon will be counted on that day. If received after 12 noon then the first working day will be the next working day.

Medication Reviews

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday from everyone at Meopham Medical Centre!

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we are changing the way we recall patients for their medication and long term condition reviews. During these unprecedented times, we have had to reduce the number of patients coming into the surgery, and it has given us the opportunity to rethink how we can manage reviews more effectively.

Patients will now be recalled every year, in the month of their birthday. If you require any blood tests or checks, we will ask you to come in and have those, and then an appointment will be made with a GP, Clinical Pharmacist or Practice Nurse for your annual review. It may even be possible for the clinician to conduct the annual review over the telephone. This allows us to manage patient’s appointments in a better way, and also stops patients having to come into the surgery for multiple appointments if they don’t need to, which manages your time and safety more effectively.

We hope you enjoy your birthday and look forward to seeing you at the surgery soon.

If you think you should be due a medication review before we invite you then please call us to check.
